Why your Google profile matters
Search for "plumber near me" or "real estate agent in Austin" and look at the top of the page. Before any website, you see a map and three businesses. That box is built from Google Business Profiles. Being in it brings calls, direction requests and website visits, and the profile itself is free.
Many businesses have a profile that was set up in five minutes years ago. Wrong category, no services, a handful of photos and old hours. Google has less to work with, so it shows someone else. A complete, accurate profile gives you a much better chance.
What our setup includes
- Profile creation or claim. We create a new profile or help you claim and take back an existing one.
- Verification help. We prepare everything and walk you through Google’s video, phone or mail steps.
- Categories. The right primary category plus well-chosen secondary ones. This is one of the biggest ranking factors.
- Services and products. Clear service lists with short, helpful descriptions.
- Business description. Written in plain words, for people first, with the terms customers actually search.
- Service areas and hours. Set correctly for storefront or service-area businesses, including holiday hours.
- Photos. Logo, cover and a starter set of photos, named and sized properly.
- Review link. A short link and simple message you can send to happy customers.
- Website and booking links. Connected to your site or booking page, with tracking so you can see what works.
For real estate agents
Agents can have a Google Business Profile, and a strong one helps you stand out when people search for agents in your area. Most agents work from home or across a region, so we set you up as a service-area business, which follows Google’s rules. We add your areas, your services such as buyer and seller representation, and a link to your listings or website.
Reviews matter most here. We give you a simple way to ask every past client for a review. A steady stream of recent reviews does more than almost anything else.
For local service businesses
Cleaners, contractors, salons, clinics, restaurants and shops all get found this way. We make sure customers can see what you do, where you work, when you are open and how to reach you in one glance. If you take bookings, we connect your booking link so people can book straight from Google.
Mistakes that hold profiles back
- Keyword stuffing the business name. Adding "Best Plumber Austin" to your name breaks Google’s rules and can get your profile suspended. Use your real business name.
- The wrong primary category. If you are a roofer listed as a "contractor", you compete with everyone. Be specific.
- Different details in different places. Your name, address and phone should match on your website, Facebook and directories.
- A home address shown by mistake. Service-area businesses can hide their address. We set this up so your privacy is protected.
Keep it working after setup
A profile is not "set and forget". These habits keep you visible:
- Ask every happy customer for a review, and reply to every review, good or bad.
- Add new photos each month. Real photos of your work beat stock images.
- Post updates, offers or events every week or two.
- Keep hours current, especially around holidays.
- Update your services and description when your business changes.
Want us to handle it? Our care plans start at $150 a month and can include monthly profile updates.
Pair it with a simple website
Your profile gets people interested. Your website helps them decide. A fast, simple site on Wix or WordPress, with clear services, reviews and a contact button, turns more of those clicks into calls. Our Signature System includes a 5 to 7 page website plus Google Business Profile setup, or we can quote a smaller site on its own. See how we choose between Wix, WordPress and other platforms.
